What software can support SME businesses in tracking and reporting emissions?

Free templates

Many organizations provide free, pre-built reporting templates. The GHG Protocol's website offers a suite of cross-sectoral calculation tools in Excel format, which serve as an essential reference for the initial stages of inventory development.

There are also reports built by Foleys97 and KLINOVA98 as an example.

International specialized software:

For businesses with larger operational scales or more complex value chains, specialized international software platforms offer automated and comprehensive solutions.

Leading platforms

Software such as Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, Persefoni, Watershed, and Sphera can automate data collection, track emissions across all three scopes, and generate reports compliant with various global standards like the GHG Protocol, CDP, and TCFD.

While powerful, the subscription costs and implementation complexity of these platforms can present a barrier for SMEs in their early stages of carbon management.

Domestic software solutions

Vietnam's climate technology (climate tech) sector is emerging, with several domestic providers developing solutions tailored to the local regulatory context and business environment.

National platform (Forthcoming)

The most significant tool will be the National Registry System, mandated by Decree 119/2025/ND-CP and operated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. This official platform will become the standard for reporting and managing emissions data for regulatory compliance in Vietnam.

Current domestic providers

In the interim, several Vietnamese tech companies and startups have launched platforms to support businesses:
