SME Carbon Market Platforms | Vietnam Cooperation Networks

Discover platforms and networks supporting SME cooperation in Vietnam including SME Climate Hub, VCMF, VBCSD, and the national registry system.

What platforms or networks support SME cooperation and experience sharing (e.g., Carbon Market Forum, Bamboo Eco)?

Several platforms and networks are available to help Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam access resources, share experiences, and collaborate on their decarbonization journey. These can be grouped into international initiatives, domestic forums, and business-led councils.

International platforms and initiatives

These global networks provide free tools, resources, and a community for businesses committed to climate action.

SME Climate Hub109

An international platform specifically designed to support SMEs in achieving their decarbonization goals. It offers a suite of free resources, including the Business Carbon Calculator, online courses, and actionable guides like the 1.5°C Business Playbook, to help businesses make a climate commitment and measure their progress.

Domestic forums and government-led initiatives

These platforms are crucial for understanding Vietnam's specific regulatory landscape and connecting with policymakers.

Vietnam Carbon Market Forum (VCMF)110

Chaired by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the VCMF is a key annual event that brings together policymakers, businesses, financial institutions, and experts. It serves as the primary venue for discussing and updating information on the development of Vietnam's domestic carbon market, aligning efforts toward the nation's net-zero 2050 goal.

National Registry System

While a technical platform, the forthcoming National Registry operated by MONRE will also function as a central information hub, providing official updates and guidance for all participating entities.

Business associations & councils

These organizations play a vital role in peer-to-peer learning, capacity building, and advocating for business interests in the green transition.

Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD)111

Affiliated with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the VBCSD is a leading organization that builds networks of pioneering businesses in sustainable development. It regularly organizes training courses, workshops, and publishes guidance documents to support the business community.
